Macquarie University Recording Studio, NSW

Macquarie University Recording Studio, NSW

Prime Build partnered with Macquarie University to deliver their newly refurbished recording studio.

This highly specialised fitout was delivered within a tight programme to be ready for the first semester of classes. We worked within a live tertiary environment and coordinated our contracted trades with the client’s direct specialist trades to ensure the new space was built to the highest professional standards.

A number of challenges were overcome in the delivery of this project, an example of which being the development and design of new structural steel posts to support the sagging timber endo skeleton, closely detailed and worked through from sketched plans all the way through to physical completion.

The acoustic performance elements of the project, such as textile panels, perforated boards and timber battens were designed in close collaboration with Macquarie University’s Head of Music and Recording. This project will now provide a specialised facility for sound recording, mixing, audio production for university students to utilise.

Arts Centre Forecourt Cafe, VIC

Prime Build were engaged to undertake a complete upgrade to the ageing café at the iconic Arts Centre Melbourne Forecourt.

Following full demolition of the existing structure, the Prime Build team set to work on the dramatically designed Protagonist Cafe project.
A highly technical structure completely floated over the heritage listed pavers. The building employed a steel and concrete ballast system to counter act wind loads whilst ensuring structural integrity.

From the dynamic Kaynemaile mesh curtain that surrounds the perimeter to the dramatic architectural lines of the stainless steel, every aspect was carefully considered and executed. We are proud to have delivered this powerful project in conjunction with the Arts Centre and Cumulus Studios.

ALDI Balgowlah, NSW

ALDI Balgowlah, NSW

Prime Build’s scope involved the demolition of existing structures, remediation of the contaminated site, the construction & fitout of a new retail store, minor tenancy and associated car parking.

This project had a heavy focus on structures, including circa 200 screw piles, suspended slab to retail floor, precast panels to perimeter walls, structural steel, installation of two passenger lifts, dock leveller and major utility upgrades to the site.

This project was completed in late February 2019, ready for ALDI to commence trade.

Woolworths Millers Junction, VIC

Woolworths Millers Junction, VIC

Prime Build were engaged to manage the installation of shopfitting with state-of-the-art technology features to the brand new flagship stores at Millers Junction, VIC.

The works undertaken to the store and BWS included installing all shopfitting item supplied by Woolworths for the staff amenities, new checkouts, the trading floor, throughout the bakery, deli, meat area and all BOH areas.


Our client required additional works completed it was a challenge to manage the safety of the store team working in a live environment construction site.

It involved constant communication with the stores operating team to ensure key areas of the store had time to prepare and train staff prior to the new refurbished areas opening to customers.

G8 Chancellor Park, QLD

Works at Chancellor Park included both an external and internal upgrade of the childcare centre whilst still maintaining its normal operating hours.

This included a two phase external upgrade program to keep the one section open for use during our upgrade works. All internal bathroom upgrade works were completed out of normal working hours to ensure there was no disruption to the sites operating ability.

Our external upgrade included installation of new shade structures, turf and bike track surfaces, sand pit upgrades, garden upgrades, fencing upgrades and painting works.
Our internal upgrade works included bathroom joinery replacement, toilet replacement works, wall vinyl installation and plaster and paint touch ups.

Monash Health Casey Hospital (BER), VIC

Monash Health Casey Hospital (BER), VIC

Prime Build have delivered an extension to the live hospital emergency section with the ambulance bay.

All works were complete with minimal disruption to Casey Hospital.

KEY LEARNINGS

Coordination requirements for Casey Hospital systems and processes and specification requirements for mental health facilities were two areas of learning for our team.
