Delivered by Prime Build, the project involved a full store refurbishment across all key customer and staff zones. Works included an expanded bakery, upgraded seafood and deli areas, a new fruit and vegetable prep area, cool room upgrades, and refreshed staff amenities.

The team navigated tight staging, night works, and logistical challenges to deliver upgrades to services, refrigeration systems, and fixtures with minimal disruption to shoppers and staff. The store now features new gondolas, updated signage, and improved flow, aligning with Woolworths’ latest store format.

Close collaboration between Woolworths’ construction and store teams, along with Prime Build and our subcontractor partners, ensured a seamless and efficient build —setting the store up for long-term operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Construction of the new two-story teaching facility included basement excavation, bored piers, combination of AFS Redi wall and blockwork, 2 suspended slabs, and intricate raked structural steel roof system with metal roof and wall sheeting.

Surrounding irrigated landscaping and a raked structural steel roof system incorporating the covered accessible walkway.

The areas provide for a uniquely designed and detailed acoustic performance of the teaching rooms, including 3 GLA’s on level one, and a multipurpose room catering for before and after school and vacation care, uniform shop, kitchenette and storage area.

The upper-level outdoor area interfaces with the existing library building, bringing the areas together for students and teachers and meeting the growing needs of the learning community.

This saw the German based supermarket embark on an ambitious program to bring everyone of their fleet of stores to the same look and feel, requiring a flexible, innovative national contractor to deliver the intensive program, safely.

Prime Build were awarded the contract initially in NSW & ACT in 2017, which quickly expanded to QLD in 2018 to deliver these time critical refurbishment projects.

Our engagement was based on a schedule of rates, allocation model which saw Prime Build ultimately re -tender every year and provide savings of 3-5% annually to ALDI as a result of procurement savings and efficiencies that were made via learnings across our supply partner network.

The project involved the complete strip-out and removal of the existing Big W tenancy to facilitate Kmart’s relocation as the new tenant.

To advance the development, substantial essential services and infrastructure upgrades were undertaken to meet updated building codes and Australian standards.

These improvements included the installation of multiple water tanks and dedicated fire pumps for the tenancy, ensuring that sprinkler and hydrant flow rates complied with requirements given the existing limited supply to the Centre.

Additionally, the scope of work encompassed the construction of a new shopfront, as well as the design and implementation of Kmart’s latest store standards to align with the new layout.

Prime Build coordinated the base building works with the fit-out activities to ensure seamless delivery of the project in accordance with the timelines set by Vicinity and Kmart.

Coles renewed format includes a range of innovative features such as an enhanced deli and seafood areas, refreshing juice bar and expanded fresh produce section.

Part of the project team’s brief was the relocation of the meat department to make way for the new Click and Collect section and supporting car park works to provide quick and convenient shopping accessibility for customers.

Extensive improvement works to the Bakery section led the project team to set up a temporary Bakery so not to disrupt the availability of this popular customer purchase.
